Job Description
• System Monitoring:
Continuously monitor IT infrastructure, networks, servers, applications, and databases using various monitoring tools and software.
• Incident Detection & Response:
Identify and resolve potential issues in real time, escalating them to appropriate teams when necessary.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution:
Investigate and resolve system alerts and errors, working with cross-functional teams to find root causes and implement solutions.
• Performance Monitoring:
Track system and network performance metrics and suggest improvements to optimise performance, security, and availability.
• Reporting & Documentation:
Create and maintain logs and reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions. Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
• Collaboration:
Work with IT, network, and security teams to ensure overall system health and uptime. Provide technical support during incidents or outages.
• Continuous Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements to the monitoring systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Maintenance:
Assist in the configuration and regular updates of monitoring tools and systems to ensure their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background:
bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
o Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.).
o Familiarity with system administration (Windows/Linux).
o Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
o Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
