SQL Developer / Database Administrator

Job Description

• Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain project databases using SQL and HeidiSQL.
• Write, execute, and optimize SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and complex database operations.
• Create and manage tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and database relationships.
• Analyze database structures and understand application data flow and backend logic.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies, database errors, and performance issues.
• Perform database backup, restoration, data validation, and maintenance activities.
• Support the development team in debugging application issues related to database operations.
• Handle data migration, updates, and database modifications carefully, especially in live environments.
• Manage database users, access permissions, and data integrity.
• Coordinate with technical and implementation teams to understand requirements and provide database-level solutions.
• Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with HeidiSQL and relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB.
• Good understanding of database design, relationships, indexing, constraints, and transactions.
• Knowledge of stored procedures, functions, views, and database troubleshooting.
• Understanding of backend development and how applications interact with databases.
• Ability to analyze existing database structures and understand project logic.
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, data migration, and performance monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with development teams and handle technical issues independently.
• Knowledge of PHP or any backend programming language is an added advantage.
• Note: Candidate should have practical SQL knowledge and the ability to work directly with project databases using HeidiSQL.
